The game is presented primarily in monochromatic black-and-white tones, using lighting, film grain effects and minimal ambient sounds to create an eerie atmosphere often associated with the horror genre. Idea and concept by Creative Director Axel Eckstein, EURO RSCG, Zurich. This mission was directed and animated with Softimage XSI and NUKE by Virtual Republic. As President of Virtual Republic I want to thank Axel Eckstein, EURO RSCG and ZKO for this awesome mission and great and creative cooperation. Finally we knew that we did everything right. It was hard but fun work and technically very sophisticated. This mission was decorated with 14 awards.
Visualization of the 1rst Violin of 2nd symphony, 4th movement by Ferdinand Ries (1784-1838). The concept of a rapid rollercoaster ride across the corresponding staves with its notes ends with the claim »GREAT EMOTIONS«. The notes and bars are perfectely synchronized to the animation timing. The typical features of a rollercoaster had been appropriately designed and placed to the dramaturgy of the composition. Especially music-lover will experience a perfect and innovative visualization of music.
Let’s not forget our primary motivation — we design to communicate, whether it is an idea, a message, or a mental model or map to communicate what to do, how to engage with something or make it function. We have to take ideas, concepts, text and images, and present them in a visually engaging form. We impose order and structure to raw content in order to ease its communication to the largest possible audience. We enable others to get things done, and we sometimes create philosophical, emotional and sensory experiences.
